Open Mic Fridays Overview

Music Forward’s Open Mic program is an international performance showcase on TikTok designed to help emerging artists (ages 13 – 24) like YOU showcase your talent, hone your craft, and get exposure. Open Mic is one entry point to becoming a Music Forward alum, which includes benefits like paid performance opportunities, mentorship, and career-building activations. As a Music Forward Open Mic program participant, we will work with you to expand your reach and fan base, connect you with industry professionals, and help you gain access to tools and resources that will jump-start your music career.

PLEASE NOTE:–Open Mic participation requires submission of an artist/band performance video
–If selected for the opportunity, your submitted video will be featured in our Open Mic program on TikTok
–Video submission must be of an original song (not a cover)
–Video submission must be of a live performance (no audience necessary, but no pre-produced music videos)
–By participating in this program, you acknowledge that you are 13 years of age or older and that you agree to Music Forward’s stated Privacy Policy (musicforwardfoundation.org/privacy).

Open Mic Fridays Incentives

• All artists are provided digital assets to promote their performance and help foster the ability to activate their audiences to attend the show

• During each Open Mic, a poll is used to determine fan engagement numbers. The artist with the highest fan engagement from each show will be invited to perform in our Fan Favorites showcase where they will have the opportunity to win free gear to help support their artistic growth!

• All artists that participate in Open Mic Fridays will be added to a roster for additional opportunities including:
  • Inspired by Greatness
    • An alumni cover series
  • Artist of the Month
    • A month-long socials spotlight and performance opportunity
  • The Music Forward Alumni Network
    • Connecting alumni and industry professions to opportunities and guidance
  • Outside Performance Opportunities
    • Perform for our partner companies and events across the US
